Overview

For new MINI vehicles, with the

Blue-tooth hands free kit with USB

Audio Interface (option code 6ND) or

Bluetooth mobile preparation with

USB Audio Interface (option code

6NE) telephoning and audio player

functionality of compatible mobile

phones is fully integrated in the

vehicle and can be operated via the

vehicle’s control elements.*

In combination with option code 6NE,

with the extended connectivity of the

music player in the mobile phone (op-

tion code 6NF) and an appropriate USB

Snap-In Adapter, it is possible to access

audio ﬁ les stored on a mobile phone.

The table on pages 3 and 4 lists select-

ed mobile phones tested by the BMW

Group and the evaluation of their

interoperability with option code

6ND/6NE.

The information on compatibility in

this table refers exclusively to current

new vehicles (vehicles with produc-

tion date September 2008 or later).

Contact your MINI Service Centre or

the BMW hotline for detailed infor-

mation on compatibility for vehicles

with an earlier production date.

For a better overview, the functions

supported by a mobile phone in com-

bination with the MINI mobile phone

preparations with Bluetooth interface

are assigned to a function group and

evaluated with regard to support and

reliability. The function groups are ex-

plained below.

For fault-free operation of the mobile

phone inside the vehicle in combination

with option code 6NE, the BMW Group

recommends the use of a snap-in

adapter to ensure that the mobile

phone is secured safely and that it is

charged and connected with the

external antenna.

However, the electromagnetic ﬁ eld

intensity inside the vehicle can only be

minimized for mobile phones with a

connector for an external antenna.

For selected mobile phones, the BMW

Group offers USB Snap-In Adapters (only

in combination with option code 6NF)

that additionally connect the USB port

of the mobile phone with the

vehicle. The table shows for which

mobile phones a USB Snap-In Adapter

is available.

This information is updated regularly to

cover new Bluetooth mobile phones.

* Option codes 6ND, 6NE, and 6NF

are not available in all markets.
